Love their pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. The french fries are really good. Everything is made to order. Yummy.
I've seen this particular building go through a number of name changes, presumably due to changing hands in ownership? I've never thought to actually stop in to eat here throughout any of the iterations I've witnessed over the years. I love a great deli sandwich accompanied by a fresh bowl of soup so each time I drive by and see the "best hot pastrami" on their window my curiosity would grow more and more. Well, today I decided to stop in and see what all of the fuss is about. Upon stepping in, there aren't any signs indicating whether to seat yourself or to wait to be seated so I just sat myself. The place was pretty empty, a couple of people on their way out and one other patron sitting down for their meal. I sat and waited a few minutes to be greeted by one of the workers there. She was kind and put my order in right away as soon as it was ordered, stacked pastrami sandwich, no cheese on rye. I was going to do the half sandwich with soup but today's offerings were only split pea and lemon rice, neither of which I like. My food arrived shortly after it was ordered and my expectations here were pretty high. I've had many deli pastrami sandwiches over the years so I know what I'm looking for when this sandwich arrives. I definitely appreciated the 2 pickle spears as I am a pickle lover. I went for my first bite, my mind was completely blown. This pastrami was PERFECTLY seasoned and it was so light....almost like a big, beautiful stack of butter meat. I enjoyed every bite of this sandwich, to the point that my stomach began to scream for me to stop but I could not comply, I felt like it would be an injustice to not finish the entire thing. The service I experienced here was good, didn't have to ask for a refill on my water and was asked how everything was going on a couple of occasions, always appreciated. All in all, this is certainly the "best hot pastrami" that I've had in recent memory, I dare to say possibly ever. It really was beyond my expectations. I'm looking forward to my next visit to try some more of their offerings, hopefully on a day that better soups are available. Great way to end the week though, will be returning for sure.
The food here is simply outstanding. One of the best deli/coney islands I have EVER been to. I will be a regular customer.
This was my first time eating at Martin's I decided to stop for lunch on my way to school and tried the Martin mistake and I can say that this sandwich was great the ham and cornbeef was piled high I recommend this sandwich is a must try I will be back
Everything was delicious. The sandwich was on fresh bread grilled to golden brown, corned beef was sliced nice and thin. The kraut was perfectly tangy. The soups were nice. Hubby had bean I had lemon rice...very good. Would definitely recommend this place!! Neat and tidy. Even the salt and pepper shakers were clean! Well done King Deli
